Job summary

Kabstrading Co in KwaZulu-Natal is seeking a skilled lifting and rigging technician to safely assess requirements and execute specialised rigging. The role involves calculating safe angles, radii, and loads for mobile cranes and overhead systems, and compiling lift plans.

You will inspect lifting gear, maintain registers, and ensure compliance with SAQA and mine safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of load dynamics, SWL, and safety requirements, and be willing to work

Qualifications

• Experience with lifting and rigging safety standards.
• Ability to compile complex lift plans.
• Knowledge of SWL and load dynamics.
• Willing to work overtime.
• Inspect and colour code lifting gear per SAQA and mine safety standards.
• Keep accurate registers and complete permits.

Responsibilities

• Heavy Lifting operations – safely assess requirements and execute specialised rigging.
• Calculating safe lifting angles, radii and loads for mobile cranes, forklift and overhead cranes.
• Be able to compile complex lift plans.
• Excellent knowledge of lifting and rigging safety requirements.
• Conduct legal pre-use inspections on lifting tackle.
• Keep accurate registers and complete permits.
