Were searching for a skilled and experienced professional with :

• Certification : Valid Rigger Certification (additional safety qualifications such as Crane Operator or First Aid are advantageous).
• Experience : Minimum of 5 years as a Rigger Supervisor or in a similar rigging role.
• Technical Knowledge : In-depth understanding of rigging techniques, equipment, and safety standards.
• Planning Expertise : Proven ability to plan and coordinate lifting operations, including load calculations and equipment selection.
• Safety Focus : Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk assessments, and compliance procedures.
• Communication Skills : Fluent in English and / or Afrikaans with strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Technical Proficiency : Computer literacy is essential.
• Mobility : Valid drivers license and access to reliable transport.
• Availability : Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as required.

Key Responsibilities

In this critical role, youll be responsible for :

• Identifying workplace hazards and implementing solutions to mitigate risks.
• Supervising and coordinating rigging teams to ensure all activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
• Planning and overseeing the setup and operation of rigging systems for heavy equipment and materials.
• Ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
• Conducting risk assessments and enforcing the use of appropriate PPE and safety measures.
• Inspecting and maintaining rigging equipment to ensure safe operation and compliance with standards.
• Providing training and mentorship to rigging crews, promoting safe and effective rigging practices.
• Collaborating with site supervisors and project managers to align rigging tasks with overall construction timelines.
• Managing lifting plans, including load calculations and proper equipment selection for heavy materials.
• Monitoring progress, addressing any issues, and ensuring timely completion of rigging activities.
• Maintaining detailed records of rigging inspections, maintenance, and daily work logs.
• Ensuring all rigging equipment and lifting devices are properly stored and secured when not in use.
