Job description

Ergo Mining has an opportunity for a semi-skilled individual with a MQA Certificate of a Rigger Aide to assist the Rigger Artisan with general functions as an assistant artisan with at least 3 years of experience in the mining industry.

Responsibilities:
  1. Inspecting and preparing loads that need to be moved.
  2. Setting, aligning, and leveling heavy equipment machinery.
  3. Selecting the appropriate rigging gear.
  4. Preparing rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts.
  5. Inspecting rigging before final use.
  6. Monitoring and maintaining rigging equipment.
  7. Maneuvering loads using heavy equipment machinery and by hand.
  8. Ensuring compliance with state and company safety procedures.
  9. Communicating with the rigging, construction, and maintenance team.
  10. Breaking down rigging equipment and conducting post-rigging inspections.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. Grade 12 Certificate.
  2. Basic knowledge of workshop tools and machine repairs.
  3. A mobile telephone to be contactable when required.
  4. Driver's licence and own transport.
Additional Requirements:
  1. Working at Heights.
  2. SHE – basic knowledge of the Health and Safety act.
  3. Overhead Crane Training.
  4. Able to work shifts.
  5. Reside within 30KM radius from Ergo Operations.
