Job description

Our client is seeking a Retail Travel Specialist to join their Sandton team.

Responsibilities:
  1. Creative planning and designing of itineraries.
  2. Managing the reservations process for bookings to ensure guest budget is achieved.
  3. Handling bookings from quote to finalising, invoicing, and travel documents.
  4. Maintaining consistent and clear communication with agents, sales teams, preferred supplier partners, and colleagues.
  5. Participating in emergency duties on a rotational basis as per the Emergency BOP.
  6. Working early and late shifts on a weekly rotational basis.
  7. Providing calm and professional service to agents and guests.
  8. Proactively selling our products and services to ensure the best possible safari experiences for guests.
  9. Exhibiting an independent, curious, and "can-do" attitude.
Skills:
  1. Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, reporting, body language).
  2. Time management and organizational skills.
  3. Teamwork and interpersonal skills.

  5. Administration skills and proficiency in P-drive navigation and paperless filing.

  11. Proficiency in Tourplan is advantageous.
  12. MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  13. Knowledge of WETU.
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of 3–5 years of previous tour consulting experience.
  2. Good understanding of terms and conditions, product knowledge, third-party, and client products.
  3. Understanding of travel industry channels.
  4. Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data for decision-making.
  5. Knowledge of markets in which our client operates, especially South Africa, Southern, and East Africa.
  6. Relevant business understanding to create strategies and make commercial decisions.
  7. In-depth knowledge of Tourplan (advantageous).
  8. Aptitude and willingness to learn.
