Introduction

SPAR Lowveld, a division of The SPAR Group Ltd., is recruiting for a Store Manager to be based in Phalaborwa.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all departments of the store and for brand building activities related to the store. Upholding the store's image and reputation should be key priorities.

Key Performance Areas
  1. Manage shrinkage levels within targeted ratios.
  2. Implement policies and procedures to minimize stock loss.
  3. Develop sales and marketing strategies to increase revenue.
  4. Negotiate with suppliers and vendors for procurement.
  5. Allocate budgets and plan store finances.
  6. Analyze sales reports and customer feedback.
  7. Initiate strategies to increase foot traffic.
  8. Control inventory and maintain quality standards.
  9. Study market reports and competitor strategies.
  10. Apply business and labor policies daily.
  11. Manage team performance across departments.
  12. Develop strategies to enhance customer service.
  13. Ensure compliance with operational standards.
  14. Implement occupational health, food safety, and legislative policies.
  15. Manage talent acquisition, staff training, and workforce management.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  • Matric qualification.
  • A retail qualification is advantageous.
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in a senior store management role.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Self-starter with problem-solving and decision-making skills.
