About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and efficient Retail Stock Controller to manage inventory and stock levels at their busy store in Bloemfontein. This role is critical for ensuring the accuracy of inventory records, minimizing stock discrepancies, and optimizing stock flow to meet customer demand. You will be responsible for receiving, checking, and organizing stock, as well as conducting regular stock takes and reconciling inventory data. The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses strong analytical skills, and has a keen eye for detail. This position offers a stable role within a reputable retail operation, ensuring the smooth running of the store's supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the accurate receiving, unpacking, and storing of all incoming merchandise.
• Maintain precise inventory records in the stock management system, ensuring all movements are logged promptly.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and full stock takes to verify inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve any stock variances or discrepancies promptly.
• Manage stock rotation to ensure the use of older stock first and minimize waste.
• Collaborate with the sales team to forecast stock needs and manage reorder points to prevent stockouts.

Requirements

• Previous experience in inventory management, stock control, or warehouse operations, preferably within retail.
• Proficiency in using stock management software and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage physical stock efficiently.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data recording and reconciliation.
