About the Role

We are seeking a Retail Shop Assistant with expertise in tools and machinery to join our team in Rustenburg. In this customer-focused role, you will be responsible for assisting customers with their purchases, offering expert advice on product selection, and ensuring a well‑organised shopping environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service, addressing inquiries and assisting customers in selecting the right tools and machinery for their needs.
• Maintain product knowledge to effectively communicate features and benefits, helping customers make informed purchasing decisions.
• Manage inventory, ensuring shelves are well‑stocked, organized, and visually appealing to enhance the shopping experience.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point‑of‑sale system.
• Assist with the setup of promotions and merchandising displays to drive sales and encourage customer engagement.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth shop operations, including stocktaking and replenishment.
• Stay updated on industry trends and new products to provide knowledgeable recommendations to customers.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe shopping environment for customers and staff.

Requirements

• Matric or equivalent qualification.
• Proven track record in retail or customer service, preferably within the tools and machinery sector.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory counts.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Demonstrable experience with inventory management and stock control processes.

• Working Hours: Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00 and Saturdays 08:00 - 13:00
