Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Sales Consultant to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will have strong sales skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. In this role, you will be responsible for engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and guiding them through the sales process to find products that suit their lifestyle and preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist customers in the showroom with a warm, professional approach.

  • Understand and assess customer needs to recommend suitable products and solutions.

  • Provide detailed product information, including features, pricing, and after-sales services.

  • Achieve individual and store sales targets through upselling, cross-selling, and relationship-building.

  • Assist with visual merchandising and ensuring the showroom is clean, organized, and visually appealing.

  • Process transactions accurately through the POS system.

  • Follow up with customers post-sale to ensure satisfaction and build long-term relationships.

  • Stay up to date on product knowledge, promotions, and industry trends.

  • Handle customer queries, complaints, and returns professionally and in line with company policies.

Requirements:

  • Previous retail sales experience, preferably in furniture, home décor, or luxury goods.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • A strong customer-first mindset with a consultative selling style.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Ability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.

  • Comfortable working with technology, including POS systems and basic Microsoft Office tools.

  • Matric certificate (minimum); further studies in design, marketing, or sales will be an advantage.
