Job summary

FROGG Recruitment is helping a commercial client in Retail recruit a Financial Controller at the V&A Waterfront. You will drive operational efficiency and compliance across multiple stores while partnering with operations to improve profitability.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, completed SAIPA articles or CIMA, 2 years post-articles experience, strong SARS knowledge, and advanced Excel. Experience with Pastel, Sage or Xero is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Completed SAIPA articles or CIMA.
2 years post SAIPA or CIMA experience – negotiable.
Completed SAICA Articles OR AGA(SA) an added bonus but not a must.
Strong knowledge of SARS compliance.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience with accounting systems (Pastel, Sage, Xero, etc.).

Responsibilities

Manage 3 finance staff (Payroll Manager, Creditors Manager and a Senior Accountant).
Prepare and present monthly financial results per store and consolidated group.
Analyze profitability (sales, costs, labor, overheads).
Monitor key cost drivers including labor, and expenses.
Ensure accurate daily sales reconciliation and cash control processes.
Ensure SARS compliance (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax).
Oversee audit readiness and internal controls.
Develop and maintain SOPs for finance and store processes.
Design and enhance financial and operational reporting.
Monitor cash flow and working capital across stores.
