Purpose of the Role
  • We are seeking a Retail Finance Coordinator to join our growing Retail team to assist with reporting on all retail metrics. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, focused on accuracy, and possess strong analytical skills. This role requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to deliver under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Reporting
  • Preparing relevant sales reports
  • Analyzing and highlighting trends in sales performance
  • Contributing to the development of accurate and business-relevant forecasts
Financial Reporting
  • Preparing and issuing financial reports (Budget variance, store expense reports)
  • Analyzing financial data to identify trends and leading indicators for overspending
  • Assisting in cost allocations
Retail People Metrics
  • Reporting on all relevant People metrics for retail
  • Calculating and submitting all retail incentives as required by policy
Annual Budgets
  • Contributing to the development of annual budgets
  • Communicating approved budgets to all retail expense owners
Compliance
  • Ensuring adherence to financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies
Data Management
  • Maintaining accurate financial records, updating databases, and managing spreadsheets
Process Improvement
  • Identifying areas for improvement in financial processes and procedures
Communication
  • Communicating financial information to non-finance staff and stakeholders
Requirements
  • B. Comm (Accounting) or equivalent finance-related qualification
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in retail or a related industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong time management skills for meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks
