Job description

Job Title : Phlebotomist (Night Shift) - Mthatha

Closing Date : / 01 / 03

Position Available From : -12-20

Area : Mthatha

Actual Place Of Work : Mthatha

Position Type : Full-Time

Weekly Hours : 42

Time Conditions : 7 day Work Week (South Africa)

Purpose of Position : To provide quality customer service and to collect non-blood and blood specimens for medical pathology analysis, within the legal-ethical framework of the nursing profession in a phlebotomy environment.

Requirements :
  1. Relevant HPCSA / SANC registration (Required)
  2. Relevant Phlebotomy or Nursing qualification (Required)
  3. Knowledge of Meditech system
  4. Knowledge of MS Excel
  5. Knowledge of MS Word
  6. Knowledge of National Health Act
  7. Knowledge of Nursing Council Scope of Practice
  8. Nursing experience within a hospital and/or laboratory environment
  9. Phlebotomy experience in a laboratory environment
Key Responsibilities :
  1. Maintain good client relations and promote the image of Ampath
  2. Manage money/cash flow of depot to facilitate collection of payments for phlebotomy services rendered
  3. Perform administrative tasks to ensure correct recording and processing of information
  4. Perform nursing procedures in order to ensure sufficient delivery of nursing services
  5. Perform safety and quality control tasks to ensure that relevant standards are upheld
