Job description

Purpose

To assess and make decision on credit applications within prescribed Credit policies, procedures and risk parameters as well as facilitate pay out 1st release process. Drive the high focus on Dealer relationship management, and contribute to the company's overall profitability, in compliance to the Company's Policies and internal control systems. Perform the CPU Final release function.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform Credit Risk assessment and Financial Analysis on corporate and individual client’s applications
  • Adhere to service levels and turnaround times in support of business strategy
  • To evaluate all aspects relating to Credit Risk and to derive at a sound credit decision.
  • Keep abreast with what’s happening within the market place and more specifically with regards to process and credit policy
  • Maintain an objective and consistent approach to credit assessment.
  • To build and maintain relationships with internal /external business partners
  • Final release of pay-outs and checking and verting Mandatory documents
  • Respond to e-mail and CIC e-mails as well as inbound and outbound telephone calls.
  • Development of self through training programs and on the job training.
  • To provide input and recommendation on process optimisation for system enhancements within the department.
  • Identify and support implementation of automation/efficiencies/process optimization in your area of responsibility.
  • Adherence to internal control systems as well as active contribution to detect and mitigate process gaps.
  • Any other tasks that management may necessitate in reaction to unexpected changes to our environment, greater business needs or to mitigate the vulnerability of the BMW Groups reputation or financial loss.

Educational Background / Professional Knowledge and Experience / Other Skills

  • Credit Qualification or BCom Degree (or equivalent).
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in credit end to end function
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the credit environment.
  • Sound understanding of the vehicle asset finance and home loan (if applicable).
  • NCA / FAIS, compliance would be a benefit.
  • Understanding of Asset Based Finance, Corporate and Home Loan.
  • Understanding of financial statement analysis and ratio interpretation
  • Must have great verbal and written communication skills and know how to work with people
  • Strong administration skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service orientation.
  • Excellent persuasion, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant compliance and financial legislation e.g. NCA, FICA, FAIS, etc.
