Job Description:

The Retail Business Manager has overall accountability for the full P&L of their network within a defined geography, comprising company-owned and dealer/franchise-operated sites.

This role involves actively managing the P&L, implementing commercial plans to increase fuel and convenience revenue, and developing area strategies aligned with business performance plans and standards.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Spend approximately 80% of time engaging with business partners, leading efforts to increase sales and meet financial targets.
  2. Supervise performance indicators, analyze trends, and take corrective actions to optimize business performance and customer service.
  3. Ensure operators understand and fulfill contractual obligations, adhering to standards and addressing breaches.
  4. Coach dealers and staff to achieve operational excellence and business results.
  5. Hold oneself and others accountable, manage unusual events, and review store environments and key indicators to identify issues and opportunities.
  6. Deliver operational excellence across stores by addressing weaknesses and opportunities.
  7. Ensure compliance with legislation and company policies, maintaining consistent standards.
  8. Conduct site visits based on needs, with quarterly meetings to ensure alignment, documenting notes and minutes.
  9. Build trust-based relationships with site and support teams.
  10. Contribute to network development opportunities, aligning project activities with demand forecasting.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Qualifications in Business, Marketing, and/or Sales.

Experience:

  • At least 4 years of experience in a sales environment.
  • Retail experience is desirable.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and motivation skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to interpret KPIs for performance improvement.
  • Self-motivated, performance-driven, with a passion for retail excellence.
  • Track record of achieving results and improving performance year over year.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills to drive sales and execution.
  • Understanding of legal contracts and basic interpretation skills.
