Job description

Retail Assistant (Home Decor) required inPretoria East.

A well established Pretoria East interior décor company is offering bespoke curtains, blinds, wallpaper, upholstery and accessories with exceptional service and craftsmanship. They are looking for a friendly and detail oriented Retail Assistant to support Retail Store operations, showcase products and assist clients on their purchasing journey.

Salary: R6 000 to R8 000 per month + Incentives.

Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
  • Tertiary Interior Decoration Qualification or Similar (Highly Beneficial)
  • At least 1–2 years’ sales or retail experience, ideally within retail décor, interiors or homeware.
  • Formal background or training in Interior Design or prior employment at a similar curtains/blinds/home décor studio
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Basic computer literacy – ability to use POS systems, email, Office tools.
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Be able to work weekends on a rotation basis

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist walk in customers, understand their décor needs and guide product selection
  • Demonstrate product features (fabric types, blind mechanisms, motorised options)
  • Process quotes, sales orders and payments accurately; manage point-of-sale tasks
  • Maintain or update showroom displays and merchandising to brand standards
  • Coordinate with installations team on client schedules and handovers
  • Keep stock and sample areas neat and accessible
  • Support occasional promotional events in-store
