Job description

Award-winning restaurant in Sandton is seeking a Restaurant Manager to oversee their high-end establishment.

Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure guest satisfaction across all food & beverage service aspects.
  2. Liaise with and host guests, fulfilling their requests and addressing feedback appropriately.
  3. Achieve budgets and implement cost controls without compromising guest experience.
  4. Proactively maximize sales and revenue, and generate new service ideas and products aligned with current trends.
  5. Train, develop, and lead the team, ensuring they possess excellent product knowledge.
  6. Maintain the highest hygiene standards.
  7. Complete all restaurant-related administrative tasks and reports.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • Formal tertiary qualification preferred.
  • Experience in a 5-star/high-end/fine dining restaurant environment.
  • Ability to host and engage confidently with guests.
  • POS system experience.
  • Commitment to service excellence and guest satisfaction.
  • Strong people management and coaching skills, with a fair and consistent leadership approach.
  • Excellent communication skills with team, management, and guests.
  • Results and standards orientation.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent wine knowledge.
  • Experience in budgeting, procurement, and cost control.
