Job Overview: The Restaurant Manager at 10 2nd Avenue Houghton Estate is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring exceptional service standards aligned with our 5-star expectations.

As part of the Dream Hotels & Resorts collection, you will lead a vibrant team within a hospitality brand that values service excellence, team development, and creating memorable guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and coordinate all restaurant and bar operations, ensuring seamless guest service at all times.
  2. Maintain and uphold the highest service and hospitality standards in line with the property's 5-star positioning.
  3. Lead, train, and motivate the restaurant and bar team to deliver exceptional service consistently.
  4. Curate and manage the wine list and whiskey offerings, ensuring relevance, quality, and profitability.
  5. Provide expert guidance and recommendations to guests on wine and whiskey pairings.
  6. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, liquor licensing laws, and hygiene standards.
  7. Oversee inventory management, cost control, and supplier relationships for bar and restaurant stock.
  8. Address and resolve guest concerns and feedback promptly and professionally.
  9. Coordinate with kitchen, events, and front office teams to ensure alignment and smooth service delivery.
  10. Contribute to menu planning and beverage promotions in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
  11. Prepare and present regular operational and financial reports to the General Manager.

Key Requirements:

  1. Matric (Grade 12) is essential; a hospitality or F&B management qualification is advantageous.
  2. Minimum 3 years' experience in a restaurant or food & beverage management role within a 5-star hotel or luxury boutique setting.
  3. Proven bar management experience with strong whiskey knowledge and a deep appreciation of wines.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer orientation.
  5. Ability to lead and inspire a team while maintaining a hands-on and service-focused approach.
  6. Strong financial acumen, particularly in stock control and cost of sales.
  7. Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
