We are looking for an experienced and dynamic General Manager to oversee the daily operations of a high-volume start-up restaurant located in Stoneridge, Modderfontein. The ideal candidate is a seasoned hospitality professional with a proven track record in managing successful restaurant operations, leading high-performing teams, and delivering exceptional guest experiences
Minimum Requirements:
Own transport and valid driver’s license
Minimum 7–10 years in restaurant management, with at least 3 years in a General Manager role
Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred (not essential if offset by extensive experience)
Experience in managing high-end or high-volume establishments preferred
Strong background in both FOH and BOH operations
Exceptional leadership, team management, and communication skills
Strong financial acumen and analytical abilities
Hands-on and solutions-oriented approach
High-level problem-solving and decision-making skills
Proficient in POS systems, inventory management, and Microsoft Office
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Oversee all aspects of day-to-day restaurant operations.
Ensure smooth front-of-house and back-of-house coordination.
Maintain high standards for food quality, service, hygiene, and ambiance.
Staff Leadership & Management:
Recruit, train, and manage all restaurant staff. Including training of waiters and kitchen staff
Foster a positive and performance-driven culture.
Schedule shifts, manage labor costs, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
Customer Experience:
Uphold exceptional customer service standards.
Manage guest feedback and complaints professionally and effectively.
Promote a welcoming and memorable dining environment.
Financial & Business Oversight:
Drive sales, control costs, and meet or exceed financial targets.
Monitor daily revenue, stock, and waste.
Prepare and present weekly/monthly performance reports.
Controlling food costs and keeping them within the group average
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations are strict
Keep up to date with labor law and health & safety standards
