Job Description

A Restaurant General Manager is responsible for managing restaurant operations to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience, training staff, and working within budgeted guidelines.

What will I be doing?

As a Restaurant General Manager, you will oversee daily restaurant operations, including managing, training, and developing team members, and ensuring all activities align with budget guidelines. You will manage Ongetem Restaurant, the meeting room, and other food service outlets, such as the team members’ restaurant.

Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Menu planning and development: Collaborate with chefs and stakeholders to create menus that meet customer expectations and dietary requirements.
  2. Food quality control: Ensure food is prepared and presented to high standards, adhering to food safety and hygiene protocols.
  3. Inventory management: Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimize waste.
  4. Team management: Supervise and train staff, including servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff. Recruit, manage, and develop the restaurant team. Set targets, work schedules, budgets, and policies. Conduct communication meetings and generate minutes. Lead and mentor the team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  5. Performance evaluations and training: Conduct evaluations and provide training opportunities.
  6. Customer service: Ensure guests have positive dining experiences, address complaints, and maintain high customer service standards.
  7. Financial management: Manage budgets, control costs, and work to increase revenue.
  8. Compliance: Ensure adherence to food safety, health regulations, labor laws, and other relevant regulations. Operate within budget guidelines for food and payroll.
