Job description

Babylonstoren, located just outside Franschhoek, is looking for an energetic and professional Restaurant Floor Manager to join our team at the Greenhouse Restaurant.

This fast-paced, predominantly outdoor restaurant caters to both individual guests and group bookings, requiring a dynamic and service-driven leader to ensure smooth daily operations and an exceptional guest experience.

Requirements:
  1. A completed National Senior Certificate (Matric / Grade 12).
  2. Minimum two years of experience in a floor management or similar leadership role within a restaurant environment.
  3. Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, with an emphasis on high-volume service.
  4. Excellent client service skills and the ability to handle guest feedback professionally.
  5. Fluency in Afrikaans and English.
  6. Ability to work hospitality hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  7. Own transport is preferred.
  8. Ability to work under pressure in a high-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee daily floor operations, ensuring excellent service and guest satisfaction.
  2. Lead and coordinate front-of-house (FOH) staff, managing scheduling and training.
  3. Ensure seamless communication between FOH and BOH (kitchen and bar teams).
  4. Maintain restaurant ambience and cleanliness, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
  5. Assist with group bookings and events, ensuring smooth execution.
  6. Handle guest inquiries and special requests, and resolve complaints professionally.
  7. Ensure compliance with health, safety and hospitality standards.
