This Sector is seeking a talented professional to join their team as a Resident Engineer.

Core Purpose
Supervise contractors on site on behalf of the client, ensuring adherence to the construction scope of work. This includes attending site meetings, issuing site instructions, project implementation, supervision, technical support, technical management, programming, costing, quality control, and technical preparation.
Key Performance Areas
- Manage and direct the construction contract and site staff according to contract requirements.
- Oversee the management of the construction package in accordance with GCC2015.
- Communicate the Engineer’s instructions to the Contractor.
- Verify compliance of performance bonds, insurance certificates, policies, and guarantees with contract requirements.
- Coordinate with local communities and landowners regarding compensation payments.
- Assist in obtaining permits and necessary documentation for construction.
- Ensure contract compliance with the team of Contract Participation Goal facilitators.
- Monitor the Contractor’s progress and maintain contact with the Senior Resident Engineer.
- Refer design or engineering queries to the Design Engineer and approve materials and alternative proposals.
- Report design or specification issues that could affect future designs to the Design Engineer.
- Ensure the Contractor understands obligations under OHSA.
- Assist with environmental management of the Contractor’s work.
- Coordinate with service providers for alterations or relocations of services.
- Collaborate with social, gender, environmental, health, and safety specialists on relevant plans and reports.
- Review and approve monthly Payment Certificates.
- Agree on measurement of quantities with the Contractor.
- Identify and develop risk management tools for implementation, completion, and program/budget risks.
- Review and evaluate claims and variations with the Senior Resident Engineer.
- Maintain a daily site diary.
- Manage social and technical concerns consistently.
- Review outputs from Assistant Resident Engineer for contractual accuracy.
- Monitor progress against the construction programme and negotiate delays or schedule adjustments.
- Maintain a cost system to monitor project costs and final contract value.
- Prepare Variation Orders for approval.
- Assist in preparing a list of outstanding works for the Completion Certificate.
- Arrange the completion of “as-built” drawings and reports.
- Examine excavations, oversee work coverage, and instruct uncovering of work for defect search.
- Require repairs for damages or losses caused by the Contractor.
- Approve practical and final completion certificates.
- Compile reports, including inception, progress, practical completion, and close-out reports.
- Request accident reports and quotations for materials.
- Instruct the Contractor to assign a qualified Site Agent for measurements and particulars.
- Record facts relevant to claims and witness circumstances affecting extension of time claims.
- Manage all site quality and administrative requirements.
