Job description

Our client is looking for a Reservations Manager for their prestigious 5 / 4 star game lodge group.

This individual will be responsible for overseeing the reservation operations, ensuring smooth booking processes, and maintaining high occupancy rates while delivering exceptional service to guests.

The role includes managing a reservations team, optimizing booking efficiency, and ensuring the lodges meet operational and service standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the reservations team.
  2. Ensure accurate and efficient processing of all bookings.
  3. Oversee the preparation and management of reservation reports.
  4. Liaise with clients and third-party agents to ensure satisfaction.
  5. Manage room inventory and implement strategies to maximize occupancy and revenue.
  6. Address customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
  7. Train, motivate, and guide the reservations team to deliver high-quality service.
  8. Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
  1. Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
  2. Relevant Tourism qualification.
  3. Proven in-depth knowledge of Excel.
  4. Any diploma or degree in a relevant field will be an advantage.
Knowledge & Skills:
  1. 5-8 years of experience in a similar role in the hospitality or tourism industry, preferably in reservations / team management.
  2. Strong business administration experience.
  3. Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  4. Excellent judgement and decision-making skills.
  5. Self-managed and proactive, with minimal supervision.
  6. Energetic, driven, and results-oriented with a passion for delivering high-quality service.
  7. Innovative and creative problem-solving abilities.
  8. In-depth knowledge of tourism industry operations, including rates, activities, and lodge procedures.
  9. Strong team management and leadership skills.
  10. Strong customer relations skills with a focus on conflict resolution.
  11. Proficiency in Excel; experience with PANstrat or similar software will be an advantage.
