Job summary

Guardian Recruiting (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town seeks an experienced Travel Reservations Consultant to join our SA team, handling enquiries from travel agents and converting them into confirmed bookings across long-haul programmes.

You will create tailor-made holidays, use destination knowledge to upsell, and work to monthly sales targets while delivering exceptional service. Strong destination knowledge and 2 years' selling holidays are essential, with good communication and organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience selling holidays.
• Experience in a tour operator or long-haul travel environment.
• Strong destination knowledge and sales experience in at least one of: USA, Dubai/UAE, Thailand, African Safari.
• Proven ability to convert enquiries into bookings and achieve sales targets.
• Excellent geographical knowledge and passion for travel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Well organised with the ability to manage multiple bookings and work under pressure.
• Confident using standard PC systems; full training provided on in‑house systems.

• Convert enquiries into bookings and proactively follow up on leads.
• Create tailor‑made holiday packages including flights, accommodation, transfers, tours and ancillary services.
• Use destination expertise to recommend, upsell and cross‑sell suitable travel products.
• Offer alternative solutions where required.
• Achieve monthly sales and conversion targets while delivering exceptional service to agent partners.
• Assist with other duties and projects as required.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience selling holidays, ideally within a tour operator or long‑haul travel environment.
• Strong destination knowledge and sales experience in at least one of the following:

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 10h00 - 19h00 / 11h00-20h00 and Alternate Saturdays: 11h00 - 18h00 / 12h00 - 19h00
