Main purpose of the job :
- The Research Nurse will join our CombAT Candida clinical study site team to provide expert research nursing care
- The applicant will play a key role in ensuring that any research undertaken safeguards the well-being of the patients and is conducted according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trial) Regulations 2004 and Amended Regulations 2006
- In conjunction with other members of the team, they will facilitate the production of good quality research

Conduct any pre-study entry evaluation for potential participantsObtain participants, next of kins or clinicians informed consent before commencement of any study related activitiesAssist with the follow-up of participants, within the ICU and in wardsMaintain confidentiality of all participants study informationCarry out planned care and assessments as required by the study protocol without direct supervisionAssist in all clinical aspects of the study, including venepuncture (desirable), swab collection, and clinical observation when necessary, ensuring that they are carried out within the Hospitals and Sponsors policies, research governance, Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials Regulations) Regulations 2004 and Amended Regulations 2006 Incorporating International Conference on Harmonisation of Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP) Data Protection Act and Human Tissue ActContribute to the day-to-day management of research studies, ensuring compliance with international standards of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), with the Site Medical Officer, Site PI, research assistant and laboratory staffRecord accurately all data obtained throughout the study and maintain all data and case report forms, both paper and electronicAssist in the preparation of study materialsParticipate in the training and induction of all new members of the team, and to support appropriate training and development opportunities in line with role requirementsEnsure that records are kept regarding study recruitment, screening, losses to the study and enrolmentPlay an active role in the study site team to ensure that :The clinical team adheres to the set standard operating procedures in the conduct of clinical trials and that all staff are full trained in the SOPs pertaining to their daily workThe data collection process is enhanced for quality with quality control measures in placeThe recruitment / accrual targets are being metProper source documentation procedures are followedIdentify challenges to study implementation and reporting to the Study MO, Site PI, Trial Ops Manager and Senior Research Clinician on a regular basisAct as a leader, resource and role model within the teamPerform any other duties as assigned by the research investigators, or Site MO or Site PIRequired minimum education and training :
Professional or Enrolled Nurse qualificationProfessional Body Registration :

1 year nursing experience in a research environmentDesirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities :
