Placements24 seeks a diligent Research Associate to support Pharmaceutical Development, including formulation, characterization, and stability testing of drug candidates in Mahikeng. You will work with senior scientists to execute experimental plans, analyze data, and contribute to drug product development.

The role requires laboratory proficiency, knowledge of GMP principles, and strong documentation skills to ensure quality and scientific rigor in a dynamic R&D environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D, formulation development, or analytical testing.
• Hands-on experience with common laboratory equipment and techniques relevant to pharmaceutical development.
• Familiarity with GMP guidelines and quality control principles.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting and reporting scientific findings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the formulation development of small molecule and biologic drug products.
• Perform pre-formulation studies, including solubility, stability, and compatibility testing.
• Conduct analytical testing of drug substances and drug products using HPLC, UV-Vis, and dissolution testing.
• Prepare samples for stability studies and monitor product degradation over time.
• Document experimental procedures, results, and observations accurately in laboratory notebooks and reports.
• Support the transfer of analytical methods to quality control or manufacturing departments.
