We are looking for an R&D Technologist for a company within the FMCG industry based in Centurion.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop new products from stipulated brief and calculate their theoretical and final costs.
  • Sourcing and evaluating raw materials and new ingredients.
  • Conduct shelf life and stability testing of new products.
  • Research and apply new ingredients or ideas, and analyze competitive products for formulation insights.
  • Oversee factory blending and packing of new products, and assist with testing and quality control.
  • Compile nutritional reports, manage documentation, and update project spreadsheets and online folders.
  • Create mixing instructions, batch cards, and review product specifications.
  • Negotiate prices with suppliers and drive margin enhancements.
  • Review client labels for compliance with regulations.
  • Manage project distribution, ensure timely completion, and resolve conflicts between project timelines.
Requirements
  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Processing / Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in food development, processes, ingredient functionality, and laboratory work.
  • Experience with laboratory instrumentation, filtration systems, and scale equipment.
  • Proven project management skills and proficiency in MS Office and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
  • Attention to detail, reliability, and technical aptitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently, or as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
