Job description

MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB INCLUDE :

South African Reserve Bank Reporting (SARB)

  1. Preparation of monthly BA returns from information on core reports such as the debtors listing.
  2. Respond to queries raised by SARB.

Impairments – Management of Non-Performing Advances & specific and general (portfolio) Impairments

  1. Involved in the month-end Impairment process including running of the IFRS 9 model.
  2. Preparation of specific and portfolio impairment schedule based on IFRS 9 methodology on a monthly basis.

National Credit Regulator

  1. Preparation of completed Form 39 from debtors listing and provision schedule on a quarterly basis.
  2. Completing and submission of Annual compliance report to NCR by the 30th June of each year, with review in mid-May prior to submission.
  3. Attending to ad hoc audit and special requests from NCR, reconciliation of annual fees.
  4. Unpacking of new and amended regulations as applicable.
  5. Ensuring compliance with NCA by implementing policies and procedures across all branches.

Office of Disclosure

  1. Quarterly reporting on exposure pertaining to the Home Loans and Mortgage Disclosure Act.
  2. Annual reporting on exposure pertaining to the Home Loans and Mortgage Disclosure Act.
  3. Coordinating auditors’ requirements for these audits with relevant departments.

South African Credit and Risk Reporting Association (SACRRA)

  1. Preparation of reports to SACRRA daily and monthly, addressing data-related queries.

Internal & External Auditors

  1. Providing information for reports requested by internal and external auditors.
  2. Coordinating supporting information and responses from relevant departments.

Reporting to Al Baraka Banking Group

  1. Monthly / Quarterly reporting to AlBaraka Banking Group.
  2. Compiling all reports and addressing queries, coordinating with pertinent departments.

Albaraka Annual Financial Statements Disclosure

  1. Preparation & compilation of information for reporting in annual financial statements on a bi-annual & annual basis.
  2. Engagement with external auditors regarding disclosure requirements.

Other Functions / General

  1. Analysis of the Debtors book to ensure data integrity.
  2. Preparation of data for monthly presentations to Group CEO.
  3. Other ad hoc tasks & requests by management.
  4. Monthly reconciliations between reports used for reporting.
  5. Introducing automation of returns through Power BI, including analysis and creation of specification documents.
