The purpose of the Rental Technician is to ensure the successful and efficient performance of Rental Operations, including Rental Technicians and Rental Laundry. This involves supplying rental systems to end-users, and up-lifting and disinfecting/cleaning used systems to ensure quick turnaround and availability.

As the Rental Technician (Fixed Term Contract – Permanent), your responsibilities include:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Delivery, Installation, Cancellation, and Collection Duties: Delivery, installation, and collection of rental systems (pumps and mattresses) with the highest level of skill and customer service, within company SLA time frames of 4 hours.
  • Build strong relationships with customers in hospitals, aged care facilities, clinics, etc.
  • Troubleshooting and fault-finding on Medical Pumps and Mattresses.
  • Maintain adequate stock in the vehicle for efficient service turnaround.
  • Maintain the vehicle in a lawful manner, following company policies.
  • Be available for 24-hour call on a rostered basis or as instructed.
  • Perform other relevant duties as needed.
  • Advise management of market trends and developments.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and stock takes.
  • Ensure safe storage and use of laundry agents, using correct cleaning agents in appropriate quantities.
  • Clean and decontaminate used assets (rental pumps and mattresses) using industrial washing machines and prescribed chemicals.
  • Test cleaned/disinfected assets, fault find, and report faults or damages.
  • Pack assets that pass tests, ensuring sufficient stock for Rental Technicians.
  • Handle and clean products according to Company Infection Control policies.
  • Keep laundry area clean and hazard-free.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts, stock takes, and tagging of systems with serial numbers.
  • Assist with other rental activities in the field and office as needed.
  • Use appropriate PPE and clothing attire.
Administrative Duties :
  • Complete installation and cancellation documentation, upload data into the system.
  • Maintain daily asset count books.
  • Complete laundry asset checklists.
  • Assist with installation and cancellation forms when supporting field technicians.
  • Maintain daily laundry cleaning logs.
  • Keep asset count books and serial number issuance registers updated.
  • Perform other administrative duties as required.
Quality System Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Maintain compliance with all quality requirements, building quality into all work aspects.
Knowledge and Experience :
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • At least 1-2 years of work experience.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Valid driver’s license and experience in driving and maintaining a company vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Availability for standby after hours during weekdays and weekends.
Personal Qualities :
  • Energetic and proactive.
  • Team player and good communicator.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Adherence to policies and procedures.
