Job description

Join to apply for the Rental Operations Supervisor role at Scania South Africa.

Role Summary

To supervise all aspects of fleet operations and finance administration to protect company assets, minimize risk, and enhance revenue collection. This is achieved through supervising and guiding the administration team to meet rental targets.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Ensure all rental and demo vehicles are on R&M contracts and renew them as required.
  2. Manage insurance policies for rental and demo vehicles and oversee claims processes.
  3. Adhere to regulatory requirements such as registrations, license renewals, vehicle de-registrations, and payment of fines and e-tolls.
  4. Monitor optimal replacement periods for trucks based on mileage and maintenance costs.
  5. Ensure services are carried out as scheduled.
  6. Update the Rental Register daily.
  7. Accurately complete check-in and check-out forms, and maintain proper filing of documents and photographs.
  8. Ensure accurate calculations and invoicing for internal and external amounts, including month-end reporting and cost recoveries.
  9. Keep supplier accounts up to date and ensure timely payments.
  10. Oversee that overdue amounts on customer accounts are minimized.
  11. Monitor staff leave, attendance, and timekeeping for accuracy.
Minimum Requirements
  • Completed matric and university education in Sales or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in rental operations, preferably in the commercial vehicle industry.
  • Managerial experience is advantageous.
  • Valid driver’s license (Code 14).
