About the job Rental Accountant

Our Client - a large retailer is recruiting for A Retail Rental Accountant to be responsible for managing financial transactions related to retail rental properties, ensuring accuracy in accounting records, and maintaining compliance with lease agreements.

Duties Include:

  • Recording and maintaining lease agreements in accounting systems.
  • Processing and verifying rental payments to landlords.
  • Reconciling rent payments with lease agreements and financial statements.
  • Investigating discrepancies in rental charges and resolving landlord disputes.
  • Reviewing and reconciling service charges, common area maintenance (CAM) fees, and other operating costs.
  • Ensuring accurate allocation of costs to store locations.
  • Assisting in preparing rental expense budgets and forecasts.
  • Analyzing rent variances and providing financial insights.
  • Preparing rental expense reports and lease accounting schedules.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial reporting regulations and internal policies.
  • Assisting with audits related to lease and rental accounting.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting and lease administration, preferably in retail
Professional certification (e.g., CA, ACCA, CIMA) (advantageous)
