Remuneration and Benefits Officer (4 months Temporary position)

We are seeking suitable candidates for a 4 months’ Temporary position of Remuneration and Benefits Officer - Ref No. HR/02/25 within the Group Human Resources Department. The position is based at our Durban office, and the successful candidate will support the payroll department.

Minimum Requirements
  • National Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in HR or Finance
  • Payroll practitioner certification is an advantage
  • SARA Registered with 3 years’ experience in Remuneration and Benefits management
  • Knowledge of Tax, Medical Aid, and Pension Fund laws and rules
  • Practical knowledge of payroll systems such as VIP Premier, Sage 300, etc.
  • Strong prioritization and resource allocation skills
  • Judgment, integrity, communication, operational excellence
Key Performance Areas
  • Data capturing and payroll processing: Update payroll records, process employee changes, calculate packages, handle third-party payments, print payslips, and process payroll
  • Benefits administration: Maintain accurate employee benefits data, ensure system updates, prepare for audits, and liaise with service providers
  • HR Payroll Information auditing: Ensure data accuracy, system updates, and audit readiness
  • Query Management: Address pay-related queries promptly and advise employees on policies
  • Documentation and Reporting: Complete accurate documentation, reconcile payroll, maintain employee files, and prepare reports for audits
