Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Junior Web Developer Apprentice for a fully remote role based in Mossel Bay. You will work with a dispersed team to learn modern web development—from concept to deployment—and contribute to real projects from home.

You will receive mentorship from experienced developers, access to online learning resources, and an apprenticeship stipend. The program offers flexible hours and potential for a full-time position upon completion.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with at least one modern JavaScript framework (e.g., React, Vue, Angular) is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of server-side languages (e.g., Python, Node.js) is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
• A portfolio of personal projects or previous web development experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in front-end development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, ensuring cross-browser compatibility.
• Support back-end development tasks under guidance of senior developers.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to code quality and performance improvements.
• Help with debugging and troubleshooting issues across web applications.
• Collaborate with designers and other developers through online collaboration tools.
• Learn and implement best practices in web development, including Git version control.
