Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in transportation management, logistics strategy, or supply chain planning.
• Proven track record designing and implementing complex transportation network strategies with cost savings and efficiency gains.
• Expertise in transportation modes, carrier negotiation, contract management, and freight forwarding.
• Proficiency with advanced analytics and modeling tools, and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing transportation networks to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop, model, and implement long-term transportation strategies including network design and carrier management.
• Conduct market research on transportation trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to align strategies and drive execution.
• Use analytics and data visualization to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Evaluate and recommend new transportation technologies and solutions to drive innovation.

Our client, a global leader in supply chain optimization, is seeking a highly experienced and forward-thinking Remote Transport Network Strategist. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from any location. You will be tasked with developing and implementing innovative strategies to enhance our client's transportation networks, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and service excellence across diverse markets. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing transportation networks to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop, model, and implement long-term transportation strategies, including network design, mode selection, and carrier management.
• Conduct comprehensive market research on transportation trends, technologies, and best practices to inform strategic decisions.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (logistics, operations, finance) and external partners (carriers, suppliers) to align strategies and ensure successful execution.
• Utilize advanced analytical tools and data visualization techniques to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Evaluate and recommend new transportation technologies and solutions to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
• Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of transportation strategies and track progress towards goals.
• Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and business cases for senior management, outlining strategic recommendations and their potential impact.
• Contribute to the development of sustainability initiatives within the transportation network.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in transportation management, logistics strategy, or supply chain planning within the Driving & Transport sector.
• Demonstrated success in designing and implementing complex transportation network strategies that have yielded significant cost savings and efficiency gains.
• Expertise in transportation modes, carrier negotiation, contract management, and freight forwarding.
• Proficiency with advanced analytics, modeling tools, and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• A Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• An MBA or Master's degree is highly preferred.
• Experience with global logistics and international shipping regulations is a plus.
