Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a talented Remote Telecoms Software Developer to join their engineering team. This fully remote role lets you work from anywhere in South Africa and contribute to the next generation of telecom services.

You will design, develop, and implement software, write clean code in Java, Python, or C++, and optimize APIs and backend services. A Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or C++.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization (AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with telecom protocols is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy software for telecommunications applications.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to define requirements.
• Write clean, maintainable code in Java, Python, or C++.
• Implement and optimize APIs and backend services to support telecom functionalities.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to coding standards.
