Job summary
Placements24 is recruiting a Remote Telecoms Network Architect to lead the design and evolution of national network infrastructure in South Africa. You will shape scalable, secure architectures and guide implementation of next-generation telecom solutions from anywhere in the country.
The ideal candidate has 10+ years in telecoms, deep IP routing knowledge, and hands-on experience with SDN/NFV and cloud-enabled telco environments.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in telecommunications network design and architecture.
- IP networking, MPLS, BGP, OSPF knowledge.
- Mobile network architectures (4G/LTE, 5G NR, Core) understanding.
- Experience with SDN/NFV virtualization concepts.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-level and detailed network architectures for core, access, and transport networks.
- Design and guide the implementation of SDN, NFV, cloud-native functions, and 5G infrastructure.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and product teams to define requirements and roadmaps.
- Create and maintain network design documentation, standards and best practices.
- Ensure designs meet performance, scalability, security and reliability requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
- Analyze network performance data and identify optimization opportunities.
- Develop capacity planning models to meet future demand.
