Job summary

Placements24 seeks a talented Structural Engineer to join its remote engineering division, focusing on high-rise and complex structures from anywhere in Durban or beyond. You will translate architectural visions into safe, robust designs using advanced engineering principles and software.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil/Structural Engineering, with a Master’s preferred, PE registration, and 6+ years of experience in structural analysis.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
• Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
• PE registration (Pr Eng) with ECSA or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural systems for high-rise buildings.
• Perform structural calculations for load bearing, stability, seismic, and wind effects.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Collaborate with architects, PMs and construction teams to meet design intent.
• Conduct peer reviews and stay updated on building codes and materials.
• Assist in tender documents and construction phase support.
