Placements24 is seeking a Remote Sports Performance Analyst to drive data-driven insights for athletic performance from Cape Town. You will collect, analyze, and interpret high-volume data to optimize training, injury prevention, and decision-making.

Work entirely remotely with coaches, athletes, and performance staff. You will use Python, R, SQL, and analytics tools to deliver actionable recommendations and visualizations for performance optimization.

Qualifications

About the Role

Working entirely remotely, you will provide actionable insights to coaches, athletes, and performance staff to optimize training strategies, injury prevention, and game-day decision-making. Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and organize performance data from various sources including wearable devices, video analysis, and training logs.
• Utilize statistical software and custom scripts to analyze athlete performance, fatigue levels, and biomechanical data.
• Develop and present comprehensive reports and visualizations that communicate key findings and actionable recommendations to coaches and athletes.
• Collaborate with sports scientists and coaches to design and implement data-driven training programs.
• Stay abreast of the latest technologies and methodologies in sports science and performance analytics.
• Monitor trends in sports performance data to identify areas for improvement and innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sports Science, Biomechanics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in sports performance analysis, preferably with a professional team or sports organization.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python (Pandas, NumPy), R, or SQL.
• Experience with sports-specific analytics software (e.g., Catapult, Hudl, Dartfish) is a plus.
• Excellent understanding of physiological and biomechanical principles related to athletic performance.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into understandable insights, especially in a remote setting .
