About the Role

Our client, WhatJobs Direct, is seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated Graduate Software Developers to join their fully remote team. You will be an integral part of our client's engineering department, contributing to the design, development, testing, and deployment of cutting-edge applications. Working remotely from Tembisa, Gauteng, ZA (or anywhere within ZA, assuming internet connectivity), you will collaborate with a talented and diverse team of engineers, product managers, and designers, leveraging modern technologies and agile methodologies. This role emphasizes self-discipline, strong communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a distributed work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from conception to deployment.


• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code in relevant programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).


• Collaborate with senior developers and team members on code reviews and design discussions.


• Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving software defects.


• Develop unit tests and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.


• Contribute to the development of APIs, microservices, and web applications.


• Work with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).


• Actively participate in agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Requirements
