Placements24 is seeking a Junior Social Media Coordinator to support our digital marketing efforts. This remote internship role offers hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, and campaign support within an e-commerce environment.

You will work closely with the senior marketing team, contribute ideas, and help maintain brand consistency across platforms while learning industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in Marketing, Communications, PR, or related field.
• Strong interest in social media marketing and digital communication.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with major social platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok.
• Basic understanding of content creation principles.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to trends.
• Basic knowledge of Canva is a plus.
• Residing within commutable distance to Mahikeng or willing to meet occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation and scheduling of social media content across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
• Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, responding to inquiries and engaging with the audience under supervision.
• Support the development of social media campaigns and promotions.
• Conduct research on social media trends, competitor activities, and relevant industry news.
• Help track and report on social media performance metrics, such as engagement rates and follower growth.
• Assist in curating user-generated content and identifying potential brand advocates.
• Contribute ideas for new content formats and engagement strategies.
• Maintain the social media content calendar and ensure timely updates.
• Collaborate with the marketing team on various digital marketing projects.
• Ensure brand consistency in all social media communications.
