Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Short-Form Content Creator (Freelancer) based in South Africa to transform long-form podcast episodes into engaging vertical videos for major social platforms. You will own the end-to-end editing process, craft hooks, add subtitles, and optimize pacing for YouTube Shorts, Reels, TikTok, and Facebook.

You will work with approximately two hours of weekly content featuring trading champions, millionaires, and financial experts, and grow audiences through data-driven decisions

Qualifications

• Proven experience creating short-form video content for social media platforms.
• Provide performance data (views, reach, engagement, subscriber growth) from previous projects.
• Strong understanding of YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and TikTok algorithms and formats.
• Excellent video editing skills to transform long-form material into short-form content.
• Strong storytelling with impactful hooks to keep viewers watching.
• Experience creating subtitles and optimizing pacing for different platforms.
• Familiarity with AI-powered editing tools and clip-finding software (e.g., Riverside).
• Fluent German language skills for editing German-language content.
• Interest in financial markets, investing, and trading is a plus.
• Analytical mindset, creativity and results-oriented production approach.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote freelance setup.
• Willingness to work with a performance-based compensation model.

Responsibilities

• Transform weekly long-form podcast episodes into engaging vertical short-form videos.
• Create and edit content optimized for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and TikTok.
• Identify compelling moments from interviews with trading professionals and investors.
• Develop attention-grabbing hooks within the first two seconds of each video.
• Add accurate subtitles and ensure professional editing, transitions and pacing.
• Adapt video formats to each platform's algorithms and audience.
• Experiment with formats and test content to improve performance.
• Monitor performance analytics across platforms (reach, engagement, views, subscribers).
• Use insights to refine content strategy and grow audiences.
• Own the short-form production process from clip identification to publication-ready videos.
• Propose a performance-based compensation structure with metrics and thresholds.
