Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Transportation Engineer for a fully remote role to design and manage transportation projects, improving mobility and safety. You will lead analyses, develop models, and deliver reports from concept through implementation with a dispersed team.

Ideally you have 8+ years in transportation, a PE license, and proficiency with VISSIM, SYNCHRO, HCS, SIDRA, AutoCAD and Civil 3D, plus strong communication skills for remote collaboration and client interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with Transportation focus.
• PE license or equivalent required.
• 8+ years in transportation engineering including planning, design and PM.
• Proficiency with traffic simulation software (VISSIM, SYNCHRO, HCS, SIDRA).
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D; knowledge of MUTCD/AASHTO standards.
• Strong communication and remote-work capability.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in transportation engineering, encompassing planning, design, and project management.
• Proficiency in traffic simulation and modeling software (e.g., VISSIM, SYNCHRO, HCS, SIDRA).
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software.
• Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles, highway design standards (e.g., MUTCD, AASHTO), and land development regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Superb written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly in a remote context.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
