Job summary

Our client seeks a senior Telecoms Network Architect to lead design and evolution of a global network infrastructure. This fully remote role will influence critical decisions on connectivity, security, and service delivery from Stellenbosch.

The candidate will develop roadmaps, define standards, ensure scalability, and mentor engineers while driving complex projects with strong leadership and remote collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in network architecture for large-scale telecoms environments.
• Expert knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SDN/NFV, cloud networking (AWS, Azure), and security architectures.
• Experience with 5G, IoT, and advanced communication services.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking; superior remote communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the long-term strategic vision and architecture for the company’s telecommunications network.
• Design high-availability network solutions spanning routing, switching, security, and IP services.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends and advise on adoption.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, and business units to translate requirements into designs.
• Establish and enforce network standards, policies, and best practices.
• Lead technical discussions, provide expert guidance, and mentor junior architects and engineers.
