Placements24 seeks a Lead Sports Performance Analyst to drive data analytics for elite athletes in a fully remote role based in Pretoria. You will develop analytical frameworks, interpret complex data, and communicate insights to coaches, athletes, and management.

Lead data collection from GPS and video sources, build models and dashboards, and translate findings into practical training strategies. Mentor analysts and advance data-informed performance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in sports performance analysis.
• Proven expertise in statistical analysis, data modeling, and visualization tools.
• Experience with athlete tracking systems (GPS, video analysis software) and physiological data.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and remotely.

Responsibilities

• Lead collection, processing, and analysis of performance data from GPS, video, biometrics, and game statistics.
• Develop analytical models and dashboards to track athlete performance and identify trends.
• Collaborate with coaches and sports scientists to translate insights into training and tactics.
• Create comprehensive performance reports and presentations for coaches and management.
• Stay current with analytics tools and performance monitoring technologies.
• Mentor junior analysts and foster a data-informed culture.
