About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished and visionary Senior Software Architect to lead the design and evolution of their cloud-based telecommunications infrastructure. This is a fully remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere while driving critical architectural decisions. You will be responsible for defining the technical vision, establishing architectural standards, and guiding development teams in building scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-native solutions. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), microservices architecture, and distributed systems, coupled with a strong understanding of telecommunications principles. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our client's technology stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and document the overall software architecture for cloud-based telecommunications platforms.
• Design and oversee the implementation of microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Establish architectural standards, patterns, and best practices for cloud infrastructure.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and frameworks for development.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineering teams.
• Collaborate with product management, engineering, and operations teams to align technical strategy with business goals.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, security, and performance of the architecture.
• Conduct architectural reviews and provide guidance on design decisions.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in cloud computing and telecommunications.

Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a software architect role.
• Extensive experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go).
• Strong knowledge of networking principles, security best practices, and data management.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders.
• Experience in the telecommunications industry is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive architectural initiatives.
