Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker (Mental Health) to deliver telehealth therapy to clients across South Africa. The role is completely remote, requiring strong clinical skills, case management, and collaboration with a remote multidisciplinary team.

The candidate will conduct assessments, develop tailored treatment plans, and provide crisis intervention while ensuring high-quality, confidential care through secure video conferencing and EHR systems.

Qualifications

• MSW from an accredited institution is mandatory.
• SACSSP registration as a Social Worker is required.
• Minimum 7 years post-qualifications experience in clinical social work, with at least 4 years in mental health.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family therapy via secure video conferencing and other digital channels.

• Maintain accurate and timely client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards, utilizing our secure Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

• Participate in regular case consultations and clinical supervision sessions with senior staff.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of telehealth protocols and best practices.
• Stay current with research, trends, and advancements in mental health treatment and digital healthcare.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution is mandatory.
• Professional registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Worker.
• A minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience in clinical social work, with at least 4 years focused on mental health.
• Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic Therapy).
• Proven experience delivering telehealth or remote counseling services.
• Excellent diagnostic, assessment, and treatment planning skills.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA/POPIA regulations and data privacy protocols for online services.
• Proficiency with EHR systems and video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom for Healthcare, Doxy.me).
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective remote interaction.
• A stable, high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, private workspace conducive to confidential client sessions.
