Placements24 is seeking a Senior Reservoir Simulation Engineer for a fully remote role. The ideal candidate will build, calibrate, and run advanced reservoir simulations (black oil, compositional, and thermal) to guide field development and EOR strategies.

You will collaborate with geoscientists and production engineers across global projects, mentor junior staff, and stay at the forefront of simulation technology while communicating complex results remotely.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related quantitative field.
• 10+ years of hands-on reservoir simulation experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Expertise with major reservoir simulators (ECLIPSE, CMG, Petrel RE) and history matching.
• Strong understanding of reservoir characterization, fluids, and numerical methods.
• Excellent communication and ability to work remotely with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, initialize, and run complex three-dimensional reservoir simulation models for black oil, compositional, and thermal systems.
• Perform history matching and uncertainty analysis to ensure model reliability and validate predictions.
• Analyze simulation results to assess reservoir potential, optimize well placement, and design enhanced oil recovery (EOR) projects.
• Utilize industry-standard simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, CMG, Petrel RE) and associated pre/post-processing tools.
• Collaborate effectively with geologists, geophysicists, and production engineers to integrate static and dynamic data into simulation models.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, presentations, and recommendations based on simulation studies.
• Mentor and guide junior simulation engineers and provide technical leadership.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in reservoir simulation technology and methodologies.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in reservoir modeling and simulation.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in reservoir simulation, with a strong track record in the **Oil & Gas** industry.
• Expertise in using major reservoir simulation software packages and associated software.
• Proven ability in history matching complex reservoirs and performing advanced simulation studies.
