Placements24 is seeking a Senior Plant Breeder to lead breeding programs for major crops in a fully remote role. You will design MAS and GS‑based strategies, manage germplasm, analyze phenotypic and genotypic data, and publish results with partners worldwide.

You will collaborate across disciplines, mentor staff, and contribute to global food security while enjoying the flexibility of remote work and a strong emphasis on work‑life balance.

Qualifications

• PhD in Plant Breeding, Genetics, Plant Science or closely related field.
• Minimum 8 years hands-on plant breeding experience with quantitative genetics.
• Proven success in developing and releasing improved crop varieties.
• Expertise in MAS, GS and genotyping techniques.
• Excellent scientific writing and remote collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines remotely.

Responsabilités

• Lead design and execution of breeding programs for crop improvement.
• Utilize MAS and GS to accelerate selection and development.
• Manage germplasm collections and identify lines for advancement.
• Analyze phenotypic and genotypic data to guide decisions.
• Collaborate with molecular biologists, agronomists and pathologists.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences.
• Mentor junior breeders and research staff.
• Stay current with advances in genetics and biotechnology.
• Contribute to IP development for novel crop varieties.
