Placements24 is seeking a Senior Network Security Analyst for a fully remote role. You will monitor networks, analyze threats, and implement security controls to protect digital assets for a global client base.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in network security, strong knowledge of TCP/IP, SIEM tools such as Splunk or QRadar, and relevant certifications. This remote-first position offers a competitive package and opportunities for certification funding.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network activity for security breaches, intrusions, and malicious activities.
• Analyze security alerts and logs from various security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls).
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, developing containment and eradication strategies.
• Implement and manage network security controls, including firewalls, VPNs, and access control lists.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
• Develop and update security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
• Collaborate with IT teams to implement security enhancements and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Provide security awareness training to employees.
• Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents, investigations, and resolutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network security analysis or a related role.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S) and security concepts.
• Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and IDS/IPS systems.
• Proficiency in analyzing security logs and network traffic.
• Experience with firewall management and VPN configuration.
• Understanding of common attack vectors and mitigation techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
