Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mineral Resource Modeler for a fully remote role. You will develop and validate advanced geological models, apply geostatistical techniques, and integrate diverse datasets to support mine planning and investment decisions.

The position requires 8+ years in resource modeling, MSc/PhD in a quantitative field, and proficiency with Leapfrog Geo, Datamine, and Python/R. Travel is minimal and collaboration is global.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Geology, Geostatistics, Mining Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years experience in mineral resource modeling and estimation.
• Expert in leading geological modeling and geostatistical software.

Responsibilities

• Develop, interpret, and validate geological and mineral resource models.
• Apply kriging, simulation, and other geostatistical methods to estimates.
• Integrate drilling data, logs, assays, density, and surveys into models.
• Use Python/R and ML tools to improve model accuracy.
• Perform uncertainty quantification and risk assessments.
• Prepare technical reports for JORC/NI 43-101 compliance.
• Mentor junior geologists and modelers remotely.
• Stay updated on new tools and best practices.
