Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Senior Mechanical Engineer, specializing in automation, to join their innovative team. Based remotely with proximity to Welkom, you will design and implement advanced automated systems and robotic solutions across industrial applications.

You will lead mechanical design efforts, perform kinematic analysis, and collaborate with controls and software engineers. The role demands a Master's in Mechanical/Mechatronics, 8+ years of robotics experience, and

Qualifications

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
8+ years of experience in automated systems and robotics.
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor) and simulation tools.
Experience with robotics, motion control, and automation principles.
Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting with strong communication.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize automated mechanical systems including robotic workcells and conveyors.
Perform kinematic and dynamic analysis of robotic systems for efficiency and safety.
Collaborate with controls engineers, software developers, and project managers using digital tools to define requirements and integrate components.
Create and maintain technical documentation including schematics, BOMs, and manuals for remote access.
Provide remote installation, commissioning, and maintenance support to minimize downtime.
Evaluate components and technologies for cost-effectiveness and performance.
