Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a fully remote role in the automotive and industrial automation sector. You will own the complete design lifecycle from concept to production support, leading complex mechanical systems and guiding a distributed team.

The ideal candidate has a Master's in Mechanical Engineering with 7+ years of deep experience in 3D CAD (CATIA/SolidWorks) and simulation (ANSYS/Abaqus). Strong remote collaboration and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
7+ years in mechanical design in industrial automation or automotive equipment.
Experience with 3D CAD and simulation tools (CATIA/SolidWorks; ANSYS/Abaqus).

Responsibilities

Lead the mechanical design and development of complex machinery and automation systems for the automotive industry.
Generate detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
Conduct FEA, stress, strain, and fatigue analyses to ensure design robustness.
Develop and validate design requirements, specifications, and performance metrics.
Collaborate with remote cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Drive design for manufacturability and assembly with global partners.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers within a distributed team.
Perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
Stay current with trends in automotive manufacturing and mechanical design.
